Web Content Importer is designed to extract readable text content from web pages and make it easy for you to copy or save that content for your own use. The Extension is built with privacy in mind and processes content only to provide the functionality you request.

Information We Access

The Extension may access:

• The content of the web page you choose to process.
• URLs that you manually enter into the Extension.
• The currently active browser tab when you use the “Copy Current Page Content” feature.

The Extension only accesses this information when you actively use its features.

Information We Do Not Collect

• Collect passwords or payment information.

• Sell or share your data with advertisers.

Local Processing

The Extension performs content extraction locally within your browser whenever possible.

Any files you download are stored only on your device.

Data Sharing

The Extension does not transmit extracted content to external servers for analytics, advertising, or marketing purposes.

Chrome Permissions

The Extension requests only the permissions required for its functionality.

activeTab

Allows the Extension to access the currently active webpage only after you interact with the Extension. This permission is required for the “Copy Current Page Content” feature.

scripting

Allows the Extension to execute scripts on the active page to identify and extract the main readable content while excluding unnecessary elements such as navigation menus, advertisements, scripts, and styling.

clipboardWrite

Allows the Extension to copy extracted content to your clipboard only when you click the copy button.

tabs

Allows the Extension to identify and work with browser tabs that are involved in your content extraction tasks, including opening or accessing tabs for URLs you specify.

Host Permissions

The Extension requests access to websites so it can extract content from the pages that you choose. This permission is used only to perform content extraction and is not used for tracking or monitoring your browsing activity.

Third-Party Websites

The Extension operates on third-party websites that you choose to process. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them when appropriate.

Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We take reasonable measures to design the Extension so that your information remains under your control. Since the Extension does not collect or maintain personal user databases, the risk of data exposure is minimized.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
